Concrete cutting prices in Dubai are almost never quoted upfront on contractor websites. Everyone says "call for a price." This article fixes that. Below are real indicative ranges based on what Liberty charges across Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2026 — plus the variables that push your project toward the top or bottom of each range.

The four main services and what they cost

Floor cutting (flat sawing)

Floor cutting uses a diamond saw mounted on wheels to cut horizontal surfaces — slabs, roads, industrial floors.

Cut depth Rate (AED per lm)

≤ 100 mm 35 – 80

100 – 200 mm 80 – 180

200 – 400 mm 180 – 350

400 – 600 mm 350 – 700

A typical MEP trench in a 150mm slab (say 40 linear metres) runs AED 3,200–7,200 depending on rebar.

Wall sawing (track-mounted)

Wall sawing cuts rectangular openings — doorways, windows, lift shafts. The saw runs on a track anchored to the wall.

Wall depth Rate (AED per lm)

≤ 200 mm 200 – 350

200 – 400 mm 350 – 650

400 – 600 mm 650 – 1,200

Standard doorway (2×1m, 200mm RC) 1,500 – 3,000 each

Core drilling

Circular holes for MEP penetrations: HVAC ducts, plumbing risers, electrical conduits.

Bore diameter Per-bore rate (AED)

25 – 75 mm 80 – 180

100 – 200 mm 180 – 450

250 – 400 mm 450 – 1,200

450 – 600 mm 1,200 – 2,800

Volume discount: 50+ bores on one visit typically saves 15–20%.

GPR scanning

Ground-penetrating radar is not optional on post-tension slabs or any slab where you don't have current as-built drawings.

Coverage Rate (AED)

Single visit, up to 10 bore locations 600 – 900

Large floor plate (1,000+ sqm) 1,200 – 2,500

What makes prices move

Rebar density

Heavy reinforcement (≥16mm bars at 100mm centres, typical in UAE high-rises post-2010) wears diamond blades faster. Expect 30–60% above base rates on heavily reinforced elements. GPR scan before pricing, not after.

Post-tension cables

Post-tensioned slabs require a GPR scan for every bore location. If a cable is in the way, the bore is relocated within tolerance — adding time. On PT floors, add at least 30% to drilling rates.

Mobilisation

Most Dubai projects carry a one-off mobilisation fee of AED 500–1,500. If you have multiple trades on the same visit (core drilling + floor cutting + wall sawing), one mobilisation covers all.

Night work

For Downtown, hospital and hotel corridors, night work is standard. Add 40–60% for after-hours shifts, plus permit costs where required.

Water management

All our standard cutting is wet (closed-loop water capture). If you need dry cutting (HEPA extraction) for occupied interiors — say a trading floor or a school — allow an extra 15–25%.

What a typical project looks like

Retail fit-out handover (1,000 sqm office to shell):

  • 30 core holes (100–150mm) for MEP relocations: AED 6,000–8,000
  • GPR scan: AED 800
  • Mobilisation: AED 800
  • Total: ~AED 7,600–9,600

New doorway in a 300mm load-bearing RC wall:

  • Wall saw (2m × 1m opening, 300mm thick): AED 3,000–5,000
  • Structural engineer method statement: included in Liberty scope
  • Total: ~AED 3,500–5,500

Podium slab trench (75m run, 200mm slab):

  • Floor cutting: AED 9,000–13,500
  • GPR: AED 1,000
  • Mobilisation: AED 500
  • Total: ~AED 10,500–15,000

How to get an accurate number

Indicative pricing is a starting point. The only accurate quote comes after:

  1. A GPR scan of the cutting plane
  2. A site visit where an engineer scopes access, hoarding, water, power requirements
  3. A method statement for any load-bearing or post-tension element

Liberty's site visit is free. We scan, scope, and issue an itemised quote — usually within 48 hours of first contact.
